Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We just renovated a small bathroom in an older home, everything about it was custom. We installed Carrara marble, with a glass shower enclosure, shower pan and seat, wainscoting and beautiful wood trim to accent the transition into the large moldings with rosettes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check credentials and ask for 3 recent references and testimonials.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Peter says: My mother purchased a 2 acre parcel of land in the mountains of Virginia and had a cabin built. At the age of 8 I was asked to help out and loved it. Recently my mother sold me the property and I continually improve and maintain it. It’s one of my favorite places because it was there I fell in love with carpentry and construction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed and insured MHIC contractor. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. During my successful 15 year career in commercial/advertising photography I gained insight and an understanding of the design process. Today, this helps me in the conception and execution of my projects. I received certification from Schluter Systems to install their advanced waterproofing system, a company that stands behind their product and provides a comprehensive 15 year warranty.
